Product description
It is a energy saving type engine room fan installed in the ship. We modified the specification to perform automatic operation at variable speed according to the condition of room temperature and differential pressure. Under certain conditions, the fan switches to low-speed operation and reduces the power consumption of the motor. It is a case where we suggested a fan with a set of control related.
Achievement record
For customers, it is the first time experience on this type and I think there were much concerns on the energy saving fan features. However, Onishi Electric Industry Co., Ltd. of our group companies has a track record of manufacturing marine fans for many years, and our staff was able to make use of the field experiences for the customers satisfaction. I think that I gained the consistent support from the consultation to delivery of goods.
Our efforts to face difficult issues
Because it was my first effort, it became a blank start literally for me. I had to create from zero about the control panel contents and specifications. First we decided the specifications while checking the details of control panel, standards of rotation, the number of revolutions and variable, the blowing performance by the number of revolutions, one by one. A trouble occurred due to a malfunction with the power supply control of the whole ship since entering the final installation stage but the staff hurriedly checked the problem by the site confirmation and made adjustment and change.
Strengths
Onishi Electric Industry Co., Ltd., our group company, has been working on a variety of electrical problems since the end of the war. Since the company's foundation of 70 years, we have accumulated many experiences under the condition that it is always multi-varieties, small lot of customers demand etc.. Our company's strength is that we can handle total rotating machine and electric control device such as motors, blowers, etc., with our long-standing track record on sales as well as engineering. In this case, we were able to offer a cost effective solution for meeting cost, troubleshooting etc. by comparing multiple companies related to our business. We have established a system that allows us to create new equipment and products starts with the customers consultation.

The work that we are dealing with is not a ready-made goods but a single item work is the main because many of them are consultation basis as almost customers inquiry reaches us with some special choices "Can't you make this thing?" We proceed very carefully through hearing the contents from customers since there are also many vague content projects at the time when we receive inquiries. The automatic fan control projects at this time were able to be completed by repeating the work to clarify each required specification one by one.
